Immunex-Plus powder is a unique formulation of complex nutrients, herbal extracts, vitamins and trace minerals which is targeted at providing unrivaled support for the whole immune system. This powerful formulation represents the ultimate concentrated nutritional formula for health and vitality.
Its’ outstanding power makes Immunex-Plus a product like no other. Immunex-Plus contains a high concentration of the strongest and highest quality Echinacea Purpurea extract available in order to provide the most powerful and high impact immuno support possible. Many similar products do not disclose their levels of Echinacea, usually because it is included at minimal levels. This is especially true of liquid products where the vast bulk of the product is water and where the recommended daily feeding rates provide a far lower amount of the vital Echinacea phenolics compared to Immunex-Plus. We take pride in the quality and efficacy of our products which is why we include such high levels of the key ingredients.
Immunex-Plus is recommended for all classes of horse, whether presenting symptoms or when the immune system is under extra pressure. It is a valuable tool for supporting peak fitness and should be fed whenever compromised immunity and health is indicated. Because it acts as an imuno stimulant it can also be used extremely effectively as a preventative where infection is present locally. If for example, an infected horse or pony is introduced to a yard, a course of Immunex-Plus will benefit not only the infected horse, but also the remaining horses in the yard, where it will boost their antibody levels and act as a preventative to cross infection. Whether for the adult horse or youngster Immunex-Plus provides unique and powerful immune support when the body needs is most.
The immune system is a highly complex defence mechanism, designed to protect the horse from invading pathogens such as bacteria and viruses that cause disease. The immune system does function effectively but this relies on everything being in good working order. If the horse’s immune system is compromised or general resistance is lowered, then there is an increased risk of disease and illness.
There are many factors that can compromise immune system function, especially in the modern horse that is often kept on a yard with others, travels and competes, leaving plenty of chances for viruses and bugs to be transmitted from one to another. Other possible factors include, heavy or prolonged exercise, disease and illness, conditions associated with advancing age, or inadequate nutrition, which may simply be due to a lack of essential minerals. Both mental and physical stress may also compromise the immune system, and such stress is very common in today’s competition or working horse.
For your horse to be in peak condition it is essential that he has a well developed immune system to cope with the different stresses we place on them as working or competition horses. Immunex-Plus supplies nutrients, herbs and natural compounds that support immune function during periods when it may be suppressed or compromised.
Echinacea Purpurea
is the herbal ‘superfood’ for your horse’s immune system. It is one of the most widely used herbal remedies in both the human and veterinary world. Immunex-Plus contains an exceptionally high level of Echinacea extract in which the concentration has been further enhanced by the extractive process. Traditionally used for its beneficial effects on the immune system, research in the USA has shown Echinacea to be effective both in tissue regeneration and to help with the body’s ability to reduce an inflammatory response. One of the major features found in feeding Echinacea to horses is the enhanced stimulation of white blood cells into areas of infection and the optimisation of the size and quantity of red blood cells. It has been concluded that Echinacea effectively acts to support equine immune defence and would be recommended for horses under stress, or to maximise support through heavy workload and performance. It can also be used as a preventative where infections are present locally.
Vitamin C
is a vital antioxidant for the immune system and is also involved in regenerating vitamin E. Healthy horses are able to biosynthesise sufficient Vitamin C of their own and so there is little need for dietary supplementation. However, the requirement for Vitamin C of a horse which is ill or under intense stress (for example, from transport or athletic performance) is often greater than can be supplied by normal bodily biosynthesis and in such cases supplementation is necessary.
Vitamin E
acts to maintain normal muscle function and helps to ‘mop up’ tissue damage resulting from exercise as well as promoting the recovery and repair of muscle cell membranes. The ill or injured horse is often stabled and it is here that vitamin E is especially important. Reduced access to grazing causes vitamin E levels to drop dramatically and this, coupled with the fact that immune system development and function rely on vitamin E, makes dietary supplementation for ill or stressed horses more critical.

To be fed as a 1-2 month course. After this time discontinue feeding for 2 weeks before resuming Immunex-Plus. This is to ensure that the equine body learns to strengthen its immune system. At times of peak stress or illness continuous feeding over several months may be required.
