Kate Williams is an established sports and equine therapist with a wealth of experience in treating and rehabilitating joint injuries and diseases. She founded Riaflex in 2006.

Whilst working with professional athletes, both human and equine, I discovered to my amazement that I could not find a triple equine joint supplement that provided adequate dose levels for effective joint treatment. Even more shocking was that leading brands seemed to be the biggest offenders, providing daily doses of active compounds at levels that would give little or no benefit to your horse's joints. With clever marketing these companies take advantage of the well known fact that Glucosamine, Chondroitin, and MSM can be significantly beneficial to human and animal joint health. As a therapist I would give one main piece of advice to my clients and that is ‘really know your product’. When comparing different joint supplements I recommend that you READ THE LABEL thoroughly. This sounds obvious but the significance of what is written on a label can sometimes be difficult to grasp fully. The label ought to tell you clearly exactly what is in your product, how long it should last and the EXACT daily dose provided. You would be justified in being suspicious of products that do not declare clearly the daily dosage-it is often because the amount of essential ingredient being dosed is shockingly low.
Quite simply the best product is the one that provides the highest daily dose rate for your horse or pet regardless of cost or brand.
